Campaigning at Mardi Gras
The Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby has been campaigning for LGBT rights since 1988. But the group is giving marching in the Mardis Gras parade a miss this year, instead they are planning to petition parade-goers over New South Wales’ anti-discrimination laws. The lobby says the exemptions to the anti-discrimination act for religious and private institutions mean gay men and women continue to suffer discrimination in their day to day lives.
