What can be done to help midwives with PTSD?

Helping women during the life changing process that is childbirth can be an extremely rewarding experience.
But when something goes wrong, midwives can become the ‘second victim’ in a traumatic birth, and may develop post-traumatic stress disorder.
The problem is, many health professionals won’t seek help for mental health issues.
Sally Pezaro is a PhD researcher at Coventry University in the United Kingdom. She is currently looking at post traumatic stress disorder among midwives, and is hoping to develop a web based tool to help people who may not be comfortable talking about mental health in person.
