Integrating renewable energy into the built environment

When you think of electricity production, you probably picture giant power plants situated far away from bustling cities. But as Australia attempts to transition to a low carbon economy, it’s vital that we start thinking of new ways to seamlessly merge renewable energy technology with our built environment to maximise electricity production. Tony Matthews, an Urban & Environment Planner at Griffith University, explained how we can transform our urban spaces, both old and new, for a greener future.
