Canadian Suspects Wanted for Murder of Australian Tourist Found Dead
The manhunt is over. At a press conference earlier this week, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police announced that they had found the bodies of Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky. The pair were fugitives wanted for the murder of Lucas Fowler, an Australian Tourist, and his American girlfriend Chynna Deese. These suspects were also charged with the murder of university lecturer Leonard Dyck. The investigation has dominated headlines for the past few weeks, and has been characterised by a police blunder that saw the suspects released after they had been stopped by local safety officers. To discuss the recent pursuit, we were joined by Matthew Knott, the US Reporter for the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.
