Canberra’s National Gallery is getting a new national sculpture garden
The grounds that lie between the National Gallery and the shores of Lake Burley Griffin will be a display garden for the gallery’s extensive collection of sculptures.
So naturally, the National Gallery opened a competition for architects to design a garden and the winner will get to work with the gallery to design and construct their combined vision. This is the National Sculpture Garden Design Competition.
A winner has been named, the CO-AP Holdings team, comprising of a number of studios and creative minds that collaborated to revitalise the iconic three-hectare site to create a living gallery for the 21st century.
One of the winners of the National Sculpture Garden Design Competition, architect from Plus Minus Design, Phillip Arnold joined Danny Chifley on the breakfast show.
