The Cannes film festival celebrates films and filmmakers and from all over the world. However, women have categorically been discriminated against throughout the festival’s 71 years. 82 women prominent in the industry have participated in a silent protest on the red carpet this year to draw attention to the lack of female directors at Cannes. Speaking with us was friend of the show Dr Anthony Lambert,  Senior lecturer of media and cultural studies at Macquarie University.
