Cashless welfare cards to go ahead in WA, SA despite negative reports
Welfare recipients in Kalgoorlie will be forced to stay on the controversial cashless welfare card after Labor failed to scrap the largest trial of the program in the Goldfield region of Western Australia. Critics of the program have condemned the lack of consultation with communities. They have also suggested that the evaluations of other trials have revealed problems with the system. To discuss these issues, The Daily was joined by Greens Senator for Western Australia, Rachel Siewert.
