Celebrating the Year of the Ox – Chinese New Year

Today marks the celebration of Chinese New Year which is also referred to as the Spring Festival. Chinese New year is said to cause the largest migration of humans in the world due to the importance of the family reunion on Chinese New years eve. So what are the traditions of Chinese New year and how did it originate? We were joined earlier by Professor Irene Shidong An from the University of Sydney where her research interests lie in Chinese language teaching and learning, and research methodology just to name a few.
