Changes to NSW Paramedics Death and Disability Cover
Under a new scheme implemented by the Baird government, New South Wales Paramedics have received massive cuts, of up to half-a-million dollars, towards their death and disability insurance benefits. The cuts put them way behind the likes of NSW Police or Firefighters. According to the Health Services Union, paramedics are twice as likely to be injured on the job than police and six times more likely to be killed on the job. Nic spoke to Steve Pearce, the President of the Australian Paramedics Association about the impact that these cuts have had.
