New research emerging from the Macquarie School of Natural Sciences has found a new way of growing Cyanobacteria. Many of the cosmetic products we use are sourced using animal materials and fossil fuels. Using cyanobacteria – which is a type of bacteria capable of photosynthesis – there is the possibility to create new products that are not only cruelty free but environmentally sustainable. Ben Tomkins was joined by Dr Alescia Cullen – Postdoctoral Research Fellow from Macquarie University to discuss more about their research.
