China’s Silk Road 2.0: One Belt, One Road Initiative
China’s One-Belt, One-Road initiative is one of President Xi’s most ambitious foreign and economic policies. The initiative shares a similar route to the historic Silk Road and it aims to strengthen Beijing’s economic leadership through a vast program of infrastructure building throughout China’s neighbouring regions. Australia has only recently shown interest in the initiative, and risks missing out on the business opportunities that OBOR could provide. The Daily discussed this with Senior Lecturer in International and Asian Business Law at Monash University, Dr Alice De Jonge.
