This week on More Civil Societies, Eva Cox looks at the cashless debit card. The idea has been trialed by the government and the results are in. The methodology of this trial has Eva perplexed – asking people on the street to sign up is an uncomfortable situation. When the questions range from personal information to asking whether you use drugs, it could be confronting. The welfare system has room for improvement, but Eva isn’t quite sold on the cashless debit card system from the results of the survey methods thus far.
