Climate Change An Imminent Risk To Global Security

According to experts, climate change is an immediate risk to security worldwide not only due to environmental catastrophes but also due to the way environmental impacts can incite dangerous behaviour. The drying of the Chad Basin in Africa has increased the level of recruitment in Islamic militant due to young adults being unable to farm. In the Caribbean, hurricane season is causing water shortages, provoking clashes over resources. The Daily was joined by Professor Martina Doblin from the University of Technology of Sydney to discuss the security risks of climate change.
