Climate Change Causing Extreme Heat Stress in Workplaces
Recent research on Climate change states that as the world gets hotter, the more difficult work conditions are becoming for Australian Workers.
In fact, Climate change is now becoming a main contributing factor for an increase in Health and Safety risks for employees who primarily work outdoors and the Exploitation of Wages for Casual and Gig-Economy Workers.
The release of the ‘Too Hot to Work Project’ a Report that sheds light on this issue and proposes new challenges that will arise within Current Workplace Policies, to ensure people are not mistreated by the Workforce due to the impacts of Climate change.
We were joined by Dr. Elizabeth Humphreys a Political Economist from the University of Technology Sydney, and co-author of the recent ‘Too Hot to Work Project’ Report to give us more insight on this topic.
