Coles’ Moves to Improve Accessibility for Autism Spectrum People
Supermarket giant Coles has announced that they will be offering a Quiet Hour across 68 of its stores. The initiative is designed to make the stores more accessible to customers who are on the Autism Spectrum and may feel more comfortable shopping in a low-sensory environment.
Disability advocacy group Autism Spectrum Australia partnered with Coles in the conceptualisation of this initiative and their Employment Coordinator Victoria Houchin joined us on the Daily to discuss the benefits of this initiative.
