Conspiracy Theorists: Are They Actually Irrational?

Conspiracy theories are notorious for making bold claims by joining together seemingly unrelated events, and as a result are often viewed as irrational. However, research suggests that online conspiracy theorists are more ordinary and diverse than previously assumed. A team of researchers have recently analysed online forum comments to discern the prevalence and categorise types of conspiracy theorists online. Brooke was joined on the line by  Vince Polito, Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Cognitive Science at Macquarie University, one of the experts involved in this research.
