Earlier this year, the NSW Government dumped a plan to phase out dark roofs in favour of cooler, lighter coloured roofs on new homes.

But new research from UNSW shows the adoption of so-called cool roof technology would significantly reduce energy bills, lower indoor temperatures, and improve the health of vulnerable people.
