Coota Girls CEO Alicia Bairle discusses National Sorry Day
May 26 is National Sorry Day, a day on which we remember and acknowledge the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities – The Stolen Generations. It is also a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation.
Alicia Bairle, CEO of Coota Girls Aboriginal Corporation, joined Danny Chifley on 2ser Breakfast to discuss the organisation’s plans for National Sorry Day, National Reconciliation Week, and its aim of addressing the complex healing needs of our Stolen Generations Survivors.
