Imagine inventing a new persona and living a life beyond your wildest dreams. With your new identity, you’re a VIP and get to experience all of the luxurious things the world has to offer.
That’s the reality of con artists. We see these deceptive characters in movies, TV shows and books. However, now Netflix series like Inventing Anna and The Tinder Swindler tell the stories of real-life fraudsters.
How likely is it that we will be tricked by con artists? Have we possibly met one before? Dr Meg Elkins, Senior Lecturer at RMIT University joined us on The Daily to answer all of our burning questions.
