COVID-19 Takes a Toll on Australia’s Youth
The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have been far reaching and devastating for much of our national community with the social, economic, and health impacts of the virus set to be felt for a long while to come.
New modelling from the Mitchell Institute has found that the jobs crisis that has arisen as a result of the pandemic is set to affect not only the country’s workforce but also around 1.4 million Australian children whose parents and family members have either lost their jobs or had their hours reduced.
So what does this mean and most importantly how can we support these kids through the tough times they are facing?
