Crown’s $450 million Money Laundering Penalty
This morning, Crown Resorts received a $450 million penalty for money laundering breaches at its Melbourne and Perth casino location.
The Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre, known as AUSTRAC, will use this money to maintain and ensure policy is being implemented in Australian casinos. As to whether or not Crown’s public representations of regret will result in changes of conduct, we will have to wait and see.
