CSIRO Job Cuts
You may remember earlier this year a rash of job cuts were to be made at the CSIRO, virtually ending the ability of the agency to conduct further climate research. Part of the rationale by the government at the time was “Hey, all the research has been done, we know what’s happening and we only need a smaller crew to start coming up with answers” which representatives of the CSIRO said wasn’t quite the case. Now it seems the Turnbull government has reversed gears and wants to fund climate science again, but is it too little too late? The Daily was joined by Michael McDonnell from the Community and Public Sector Union which oversees the CSIRO.
