The great Australian dream as it so often is called is to buy a house and keep it. However, it’s a dream that seems to be becoming steadily out of reach. NewsLocal’s North Shore Times recently had a front page report about the newest trend of Australian youth- a parent-provided future with a guaranteed roof over their head. Investigations also show that urban poverty is not just geographical anymore- it’s also achieving the great paradox that the rich get abnormally richer and the poorer go backward.
