Data Gained from Animal Testing in Cosmetics now Banned in Australia

In 2019, half a million animals continue to suffer as a direct result of the pain and cruelty that the testing of cosmetic ingredients has on them. However, ‘The Industrial Chemicals Act 2017’, a new law passed in Senate last month, has resulted in the banning of data used from animal tests in cosmetics – Australia wide –  in an attempt stop animal testing all together.

To shed some light on what this means for the cosmetics industry and welfare of animals, The Daily spoke to Emily Rice, Outreach and Partnerships Manager for PETA Australia.
