Deadly mushrooms and talking trees with Dr Summerell

Sydney’s iconic Botanic Gardens chief scientist and funghi expert Dr Brett Summerell has helped describe over 120 new species of funghi.

He has lead the Gardens’ team of world-class plant scientists for nearly 20 years at what is considered Australia’s oldest living continuous scientific institution.

Dr Summerell joins Wednesday Drive host Sean Hatzi to share tips on how to avoid death cap mushroom poisoning and even explains how trees use funghi to talk to each other.
