Decaffeinating Your Beans!

There’s nothing quite like the legal chemical dependence of coffee in the morning. It’s an essential liquid life support to most mornings, being a natural stimulant. But some limit their caffeine intake for health, or sanity, reasons.

That’s where decaf comes in, and its consumption popularity has led Market Research Future to forecast the industry’s estimated worth to be 21.45 billion US dollars by 2025. Professor Lauren Ball, chair of Community Health and Wellbeing at the University of Queensland, was on Monday Drive to explain the magic (or science?) behind decaffeinating coffee beans without losing its flavour.
