Declining Academic Performance To Cost Australia $120 Billion in GDP

Australia’s GDP is estimated to lose $120 Billion over the next 45 years. The not-for-profit Public Education Foundation released an Issues Paper this month which has projected this economic loss after examining Australian high schoolers declining performance in the OECD’s ‘Programme for International Student Assessment’ test. However, they have also attributed educational inequality to at least $20 billion of the total estimated loss.
