New research shows defence diplomacy is on the rise. Defence diplomacy is the use of military relationships to shape foreign policy.

Countries like Australia, New Zealand, China, and Japan are increasing their engagements in the Pacific meaning the region has become, geopolitically speaking, more relevant.
