Defender in the Grass
The site of Splendour in the Grass is also part of the most easterly significant wildlife corridor in so called Australia. By now you’ve probably heard all the stories following on from the festival, aptly renamed festival Splendor in the Mud.
Listen back to Danny’s chat with Sue Higginson on Breakfast. Sue has experience as Public Interest and Environmental Lawyer and is a Greens representative in the NSW Parliament. Her journey started in the old-growth forests of the North Coast as a frontline activist and her passion for protecting our precious native forests is just as strong today.
Local Byron and North Byron community members have been campaigning for years against the location for the festival Splendour in the Grass for years and Sue shares her experience defending the region and what her thoughts are on sustainable music festivals for the future.
