Regional hospitals under strain as outbreak escalates

As the Delta outbreak in Western NSW and Far Western NSW worsens under-resourced health services across these regions are facing sustained pressure.
Last week Dubbo Base Hospital was short-staffed after 150 of its workers were forced into mandatory isolation following close contact with confirmed cases.
Now, hospital workers from Sydney are being sent to regional areas including Dubbo, Bathurst to assist with combating the health crisis.
