Designer Mosquitoes to Eradicate Disease
With summer fast approaching, blood-sucking mosquitoes will be in force once again. Aside from the itchy bites they produce, mosquitoes can pose serious threats to human health. However, research underway by Dr Maciej Maselko from Macquarie University may just be changing things. He is engineering designer mozzies with the aim of eradicating a host of tropical diseases. Jess from the Weekend Breakfast Show spoke with Dr Maselko to find out more.
