This previous week has seen the passing of another woman at the hands of violence in a public space. In light of this whilst there are a range of issues that contribute to these crimes occurring, specifically the men committing these acts, there are ways in which the risk women face in public spaces can be reduced. So what can be done to make these spaces safe and inclusive for all? Nicole Kalms, Associate Professor in the Department of Design at Monash University joined The Daily to discuss how city planners and architects can better design public spaces to reduce the risk of women face at the hands of violence.
