Dictionary of Sydney: Shirley Beiger
It’s a real-life How to Get Away With Murder – Shirley Beiger was a model and Pix magazine cover girl who, in 1954, shot and killed her lover, Arthur Griffith, outside the Chequers Nightclub in Sydney. She was incarcerated in Long Bay jail, and her trial gained significant national media attention due to her being a recognised cover girl.
Nicole Cama from Dictionary of Sydney joined Tess to talk more about this true crime case of passion and violence, and how Beiger was later acquitted of the crime.
