We are back with Dr. Lisa Murray and Dictionary of Sydney and this week we have the exciting story of Robert Wardell.
A barrister and a newspaper proprietor. Along with William Wentworth, Wardell founded the Australian newspaper in 1824. He was a prickly man and his newspaper editorials and articles could be acerbic, arrogant, condescending and heavily sarcastic but this forced him into duels to settle scores.
