A new study from RMIT shows communities in regional and remote areas are still relying on face-to-face banking services.

More banks in regional and remote areas are shutting down and moving to online services, and for communities without access to affordable and reliable Internet, the impacts are significant.

First Nations communities are at a greater disadvantage, where 43 per cent of indigenous communities and homelands across Australia have no mobile service
