Disability Pride Month

What started out as a one day celebration in Boston, USA in 1990, has now grown to an annual event that takes place every July globally. For the month of July we celebrate disabled and chronically ill people and their many contributions to our world.

On 2SER Breakfast, Producer Elli talks to local resident, disability rights activist and freelance writer Jane Scott. Jane openly shares her experience of living with disability and is celebrating the disabled community this whole month.

Closer to home there is Inner West Disability Pride Festival, it’s open to members of the disabiled community and allies. Connect with Inner west Pride group online and Jane Scott here.
