Diversity (or lack of) in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame
During the week Steve Miller was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and has kicked up a heap of controversy around the shrine to rock ‘n’ roll, saying after the ceremony that his induction was altogether an unpleasant experience.
Aside from being a general whinge, his complaints did touch on broader issues, when he described the Hall of Fame as a ‘boys club’. When you look through the list of inductees to the Hall of Fame, you’ll see a trend – white dudes, a whole bunch of white dudes.
