Do perfectionist bosses stifle creativity?
A boss with a perfectionist streak can be great – they set high standards and lead teams to groundbreaking innovations.
There’s a catch, though. Perfectionist leaders, especially when they show anger or harsh criticism, can undermine just the creativity and innovation they’re asking for.
Dr Gamze Koseoglu is Associate Professor of Management at the University of Melbourne. With her colleagues, she studied the impacts of perfectionism on workplace teams across three countries.
