Doctor Who Backlash
Last week the world was told that the next person to step into lead role in BBC’s Doctor Who would be Jodie Whittaker. Whittaker is the first woman in the 50 year history of the show to take on the role of The Doctor, an alien who travels throughout time and space.
Most people welcomed the move as a sign of progress but the change hasn’t gone without criticism. Myles Houlbrook-Walk discussed with Dr. Liz Giuffre, Doctor Who fan and Lecturer in Communication at the University of Technology Sydney.
