Domestic violence victims’ homelessness plight

Homelessness and domestic violence are two massive problems in our society.. but have you ever thought they could be linked? A third of those men and women using homelessness services are fleeing domestic violence, according to a new study by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.

The actual figures are estimated to be significantly higher, with a number of victims afraid to speak up.

Tim Beard is in charge of the Housing and Specialised Services Group at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. He spoke to producer Georgia Clark.
