DOWNGIRL Chat Women in Punk, Underage Crowdsurfing and MANIC.

Emerging from the dark depths of the pandemic, DOWNGIRL has become an absolute force to be reckoned with.

Tackling topics like misogyny, equality and politics – their music reinforces the consistent intertwining of the personal and political.

Skarlett Saramore Drummer of DOWNGIRL had a chat with Dream State host, Jas about the band’s journey and what it’s like to be at the forefront of new and emerging Aussie femme punk.

They played a hectic show at the Red Rattler over the weekend, and you can catch them back in Sydney on the 30th of March for Femme Fest.

DOWNGIRL’S newest EP, Manic is out now and can be streamed online or purchased physically on Bandcamp – along with their merch (including the infamous Hooters top).
