Dressed to Impress- Dr Emerald King Represents Australia at the World Cosplay Championship 2024
Earlier this month, Nagoya, Japan hosted this year’s World Cosplay Summit, the world’s largest cosplay event where cosplayers and pop-culture fans from around the world who love anime, manga and video games come together to create “..a new form of international and cultural exchange”.
The big event of the summit was the World Cosplay Championship [WCC]; performers from 36 countries competing to be crowned the world’s best cosplayer.
Dr Emerald King, Lecturer in Humanities, Global Cultures and Languages at the University of Tasmania, and one part of the duo who represented Australia in this year’s championship, joined Danny Chifley on 2SER Breakfast to share her experience competing at the WCC.
