Drones keeping our beaches safe
Shark nets have been removed early in NSW as whale migration season rolls around. Despite this, our beaches are still being kept safe with the help of a lifesaver in the sky. The Little Ripper Lifesaver is automated drone that is patrolling our beaches and saving lives.
Ben Trollope of the Little Ripper Group joined the show to explain how the state of the art drone operates. Its features include identifying different species of shark in the water and the ability to drop buoyancy aids onto troubled swimmers.
