Eel Festival

Our beautiful city of Sydney is a vibrant and cosmopolitan place, where time seems not to stop. However, if we allow ourselves to slow down and feel the ground beneath our feet, echoes from the past, make their presence felt. Prior to English settlement, approximately 29 indigenous clan groups had forged cultural and spiritual roots to land and sky. On the 3rd of March, Sydney Living Museums, are celebrating Parramatta’s namesake, the eel, and its significance to the local Burramattagal people.  Jess spoke with Hayden Walsh from Sydney Living Museums in order to unwrap Sydney’s living past.
