Eleanor Jawurlngali turns up the Volume

Eleanor Jawurlngali Dixon is a Mudburra and Garrawa woman from Marlinja in the Northern Territory.

She is one quarter of the critically-acclaimed ensemble Kardajala Kirridawa, one half of the rocking father/daughter duo Rayella and one hell of an artist.

Most recently, she’s been performing with the Dirty Three, blending contemporary tunes with traditional sounds, a performance that Eleanor will be bringing to Sydney when she teams up with Mick Turner from the Dirty Three, to support the legendary Kim Gordon as part of Volume, the innovative music series presented by the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Eleanor took some time out to catch up with 2SER Breakfast in the lead up to the Sydney show, Thursday 18 July.
