Balancing Sustainability and the Increased Use of Electric Vehicles
The NSW government recently introduced an Electric Vehicle Strategy to encourage electric vehicle purchases through tax cuts and incentives. This strategy was designed so that by 2030, half of all new car sales will be electric vehicles. The purpose of this strategy is to prepare the NSW road network for a low-emissions future.
While this strategy is a step in the right direction, is filling up Sydney’s roads with electric vehicles instead of petrol powered cars the most sustainable solution in the long run?
