Why Electronic Devices Slow Down Over Time
There is always much talk surrounding the idea that electronic devices, such as phones, tablets and computers slow down as they get older to the point of being unusable, especially around the release of a newer, more powerful model. There are many misconceptions and conspiracy theories, including that manufacturers deliberately degrade these device’s performance. So is this the case? Or are we ourselves responsible for our devices getting slow? Robert Merkel, a Lecturer in Software Engineering at Monash University spoke to us this morning.
