Dr. Elizabeth Austin, is an early career researcher at the Human Factors and Resilience research stream at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation at Macquarie University. Dr Austin has a strong track record of leading interdisciplinary research integrating psychological theories with complex systems theory and human factors analysis methods to improve quality, safety and
sustainability in complex socio-technical systems, with a particular focus on Emergency Departments. Austin has established a high-quality program of research, leading the translation and adaptation of complex systems methods for application into the healthcare industry working with the top human factors experts in Australia.
