Entwined & Unwound

Coming out of Adelaide/Kaurna is the five-piece outfit of Twine. Despite the buzz of aggressive swinging guitars, their long-time coming debut album New Old Horse essentially is a display of catharsis, as it’s an outlet that harnesses the pining thirst of alt-country with the ferociousness of infernal hardcore. It’s easy to sum up this slice of the Australian music commodity as a burst of furor, However when combined with a disenfranchised vocal lament that is borderline rapturous in it’s delivery and ripened by the yowl of violin – it’s become obvious that New Old Horse is incredibly crafted and meticulously poured over record that is built from the ground up.

Guitarist and vocalist Thomas Katsaras (who’s bandmates who also appear in groups like The Empty Threats, War room and Wake In Fright) took sometime out of their schedule to have a chat on The Band Next Door on figuring out their sound, teething the record and the acceptance of genre.

New old Horse is out now.
