10:00am 20th September 2015 :: Think: Health
This week on Think: Health we look at the importance of a positive birth experience for two types of women.
The first is Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, who struggle to identify with non-Indigenous midwives. It contributes to pre-natal disadvantage, and can be easily solved by boosting the Indigenous midwifery and nursing workforce. We find out why having culturally safe care is just as imporant as medically safe care.
Next, women who find out their baby is in breech position prior to giving birth. We find out about the quick choices they have to make, and how society views those women if they make the “wrong” choice.
